Communications Office Hour

An open office hour to discuss media relations and communications activities.

Advancing Pretrial Policy and Research (APPR) is pleased to offer a virtual office hour to discuss media relations and communications activities. The unstructured drop-in session—available at no cost—will be held on Tuesday, November 29, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. ET. APPR staff members will answer your questions on communications activities. The registration deadline is Tuesday, November 22, 2022.

About the Office Hour

Communicating about your pretrial system is challenging. It is a complicated process involving many different agencies and decision points. In addition, many people hold worldviews about crime and the criminal legal system that do not align with the research and current data. Complicating this is the fact that many pretrial system stakeholders lack the time, resources, and staff to regularly communicate in ways that increase understanding.

We don’t have a magic wand to wave away those challenges. But we can provide support, answer questions, and connect you with APPR resources that just might make communications a bit less daunting.

This session has no space limitation, but participants must register by Tuesday, November 22, 2022.
