Advancing Pretrial Policy and Research (APPR) is pleased to offer virtual office hours about a new resource that helps pretrial practitioners engage the community in pretrial advancement efforts. This free unstructured drop-in session will be held on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. ET. Quixada Moore-Vissing of Public Engagement Partners and Orleny Rojas of the Center for Effective Public Policy will share information on the new toolkit and answer your questions on how to use it and address common challenges. The registration deadline is Wednesday, November 6.
About the Office Hours
Community engagement is essential to building relationships and partnerships among community members, local organizations, and government entities. Participants will learn how APPR’s Community Engagement Toolkit can help you understand how to engage people, including those with lived experience, in your pretrial advancement efforts.
This toolkit is designed for anyone seeking to make changes that impact local communities’ well-being and address the racial disparities that plague our criminal legal systems. Involving and partnering with community members—especially people affected by the pretrial system—can help pretrial stakeholders and practitioners develop and implement effective policies and practices that deliver more equitable and just outcomes.
